A Review: Design and Optimization Approaches of the Darrieus Water Turbine

As the use of Darrieus turbines in water is becoming increasingly popular field renewable energy, it essential to explore and evaluate existing research efforts. The situation turbine still requires further discussion. This paper aims provide a comprehensive review optimization methods for turbines, addressing challenges associated with their efficiency, start-up, stability. work summarizes evaluates findings previous studies, focusing on features experimental numerical methods. Influence geometric parameters, including height-diameter ratio, solidity, torsional angle, airfoil are also talked into. adopts solidity values ranging from 0.1 0.4, but design experience not as extensive that wind turbine. Further discussions needed optimal power coefficient tip speed ratio about zero above Betz limit needs summarization. Various strategies, such multi-turbine arrangement, coupling Savonius blade pitching, discussed. By offering insights into current state works this facilitate future research, bridge gaps field, enrich utilization ocean currents, improve structure energy.
